Classic Kimono

The Atama Classic is a 500 GSM, 100% cotton single weave BJJ gi and the evolution of Atama's original Single Weave. Light, breathable and very hard-wearing, it is made for daily training and holds up in competition.

Is the Atama Classic the right BJJ gi for you?

If you train several times a week and want one gi that does everything, yes. Single weave is lighter and more breathable than double weave, so the Classic suits long sessions and warm gyms. It feels broken in from the first class and is built for years of hard training. Beginners get a gi that grows with them; experienced players use it as their everyday gi and keep the Mundial 10 for competition.

Check your height and weight on our size chart before ordering. Like any 100% cotton gi, the Classic may shrink slightly after the first wash. Wash at 30°C maximum, hang or lay flat to dry and avoid the tumble dryer. For blue and black, soak the gi for 20 to 30 minutes in cold water with two or three cups of white vinegar before the first wash to help set the colour. FAQ

Classic or Mundial 10?

The Classic is lighter and softer, with a cotton collar and cotton pants, and costs less. The Mundial 10 has Atama's exclusive 600 GSM weave and Military Rip-Stop pants for a tougher competition gi.

Will the Classic shrink?

Slightly, after the first wash, like any 100% cotton gi. Cold water and air drying keep shrinkage to a minimum, and after a couple of washes the gi settles into its final fit.

Is it a good first gi?

Yes. It is light, comfortable and easy to care for, and it meets the standard experienced competitors expect.

Which colours are available?

White, blue and black, all IBJJF approved.
